As you know when I get excited about something, I love to share it with anyone who will listen. You happen to be everyone because you’re here and I think you’ll love this too! I was assigned a story for another outlet that I write for and so I went to do some “research” at Blo Blow-dry Bar in Carlsbad (Bressi Ranch) and not only did I get one of the best blowouts I’ve ever had but the girl that did my styling said that they have a Happy Hour.
Hold up…a Blowout Happy Hour?! Why have I not heard of this before???
True story…at Blo Blow-dry Bar in Carlsbad from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays they have Happy Hour which means that your blowout is $30 instead of $40. Awesome!!
If you haven’t EVER had a blowout. Book yourself one ASAP. It’s an instant booster and makes you look fabulous in 55-45 minutes. Even the GOOP-tastic Gwyneth Paltrow loves Blo, as she recently partnered up with the Blo creative team to make the brand grow. You can choose from seven signature styles including: Pillow Talk, sexy tousled waves with body (my favorite); Red Carpet, classic blowout with lots of body; High Society, a high-top bun style; Executive Sweet, straight and sleek; Holly Would, lots of volume and curls; Hunt Club, the ponytail with body; and Go Fish, the fashion braid.
I used to be a huge Drybar fan, which I still am, but location to my house and the blowout I just got has convinced me to go Blo from now on. The biggest difference is that they’ll go the extra mile to make your hairstyle extra special like do a fun braid for no extra charge, and I also loved the salon furniture they had at their place. I don’t mind the offering of mimosas and wine either, which come complimentary with your service so it really is Happy Hour all around!
To make your appointment call, (760) 585-2155, visit their Web site or download the Blo app and make your appointment from there.
Happy Blo-ing Mamas! XOXO

So, here is my issue/concern with blow dry bars: To be blunt, every time I call one of these types of salons to ask if they have stylists trained to work with ethnic hair, I get crickets. It’s frustrating because sometimes a blowout is all I need, but I refuse to pay to walk out of there unhappy. Or worse, to walk in and have everyone’s eyes go wide because they’re wondering who is going to get ‘stuck’ doing my hair. But, I am willing to try at least once.
I totally get it Melanie! I had another friend that said the same thing. They should be trained on all hair types and you should NOT pay for something you’re not satisfied with. I would try it as I saw a few different hair types being done when I was there. I’ll meet you there! xo
