Yesterday, Mama got the look and the question. You know the question Mama is talking about — will there be more? Here’s how the conversation goes…Mama tells them what about herself, talks about the kids, the husband traveling…yada, yada, yada. Then the look comes and then the inevitable question — will there be more?
Mama’s answer is usually a maybe and then moves on to the next topic. However this time Mama felt compelled to ask why they would ask that. Is 2.5 kids and a dog still the perfect American family? Would Mama having more than two kids and maybe a dog AND a cat offend you?
Now, Mama isn’t talking about outdoing the Duggars or anything…we’re talking maybe, maybe one more child (no cat, by the way, is in the talks). It seems everywhere you go these days, people have three even four kids in tow. Is it just Mama or have you noticed that trend too? Although now that Mama thinks about it, there was a front page cover recently of Time Magazine talking about people having just one. They also get the question — will there be more?
The question can’t be answered simply as it’s all about timing (although, we all know that no time is the ‘right’ time), money, time, age…and the list goes on. Lately, Mama has been stretched very thin on time and is thinking how can Mama squeeze in more activities and attention for one little child. But somehow, you do. You love them and you make time for them. It’s a sacrifice to start but in the end, it’s pure joy.

So what does all this have to do with Girl Time?! Oh, just that Mamas need a little R&R every now and then to recuperate from all this sacrificing of time and love. So when Mama’s friends from the Rancho Bernardo Inn came calling about their Made-to-Order Spa Services — there was no way Mama could resist. Did someone say Sangria Sensation? Why, yes. Yes, they did!
A hidden gem in the rolling hills about 30 minutes north of downtown San Diego, the Rancho Bernardo Inn is like an oasis for stressed out Mamas in need of a little girl time. Great for a day outing or an overnight slumber party with your besties, this is the spot to be. If you’re looking for a night club spot — stop reading now. It’s not that nor would this Mama want it to be that. It’s the kind of place that you can kick back in your robe after your wonderful Vanilla-Orange Massage and enjoy a glass of wine by the pool. The spa has it’s own pool and cabanas, garden complete with hydrotherapy pool and their own spa menu.
The spa cuisine is delivered in bento boxes complete with starter, salad or soup, entree and dessert. All in the perfect portions — not too big and not too small. You also get refreshing beverages like blackberry honey lemonade or sangria! Either or…you’re in for a good, relaxing time. The spa services include the made-to-order services (Sangria for fall and Chocolate for winter!), facials, massages, body therapies like scrubs and wraps, and Mama’s favorite — cocktail pedicures! Think champagne, wine, margarita, pina colada and chocotini’s are all incorporated into the service to pamper your footsies — all while you’re sipping on the same signature cocktail. Now, that’s what Mama calls an excellent idea!!
So book your service NOW and take the morning, afternoon and evening to rejuvenate, relax and feel like yourself again — Mama’s orders (doctor’s too)! It’s best to treat yourself every 3 to 6 months (again, Mama’s orders). For more information visit, RanchoBernardoInn.com. Not in the area? No problem, try the RB Inn’s DIY At-Home Therapy…it’s divine!
