This Little Piggy…

Isn’t it the cutest thing when your little one learns animal sounds! Finally Baby Boy has managed to utter his 12th word — MOOO!! We’re beyond thrilled. However, since that first MOO, Mama has been trying to get him to learn the sound for a pig, “OINK.” Lily-girl and Mama went around on all four snorting our noses like pigs and he just giggled. Glad no-one was filming that scene…

Mama just has a deep, deep affection for all things pink — just like pigs. Or maybe it’s the story  of Charlotte’s Web that keeps replaying in Mama’s mind. Wilber was so cute that you just wanted to take him home and never eat bacon again! So while Mama is trying to get Baby Boy to OINK like a pink pig, let’s take a look at the cutest little piggies that Mama has found that you just can’t resist…

The Icky Sticky FrogPiggy reading — some of Mama’s favorite books are from Piggy Toes Press. Not only are they fun, stories for you and the kids, they are also interactive incorporating some sort of 3-D element of texture like ribbons as rainbows and yarn as a bird’s nest to help children really relate to the story you’re reading. Our current favorites are: The Icky Sticky Frog, $5.95, and What Makes A Rainbow, $6.85.

Piggy toes — a little girl (or boy!) is never too young to have their nails painted. Lily-girl and Mama love Piggy Paint which comes in a rainbow of colors, even the trendiest green and blue, that is completely water-based. No nasty chemicals for our little ones! It comes off really easy too — perfect for divas in the making…Available at Mama’s Shop, $20 for two.

Piggy eating — a mixture of salty and sweet, you’ll flip for Mo’s Bacon Chocolate Chip Pancakes. The mixture is super easy to make and is so delicious you’ll want them for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Even the kids game them two thumbs up. Available at vosgeschocolates.com, $12.

Piggy painting — Mama loves nothing better than organized chaos. A place for everything including art supplies is the way we work around here. Mama loves Little Picasso Art Kits from The Piggy Story. The kit holds 8 markers, 8 crayons, 1 glitter pen, 1 set of safety scissors, 1 pencil sharpener and a notepad — all in a cute little tote adorned with piggies. This makes a perfect gift! Available at thepiggystory.com, $22.

Leg chops — keep kiddos legs warm this fall season with Pork Chop Kids socks. They are more than just socks, as they go all the way up to the thighs and are super cute in fun designs like stripes, preppy argyle, hearts and polka dots. Available at Mama’s Shop, $15.
