There Mama was sitting there minding my own business at preschool parent night when all of sudden Mama hears here name being called out. “WHAT?” What did Mama do now? It seems someone lovingly nominated Mama to be in charge of the preschool fundraisers for the year. How in the world does that happen? They obviously don’t read Mama’s site as you know Mama is much better at spending money then collecting it (as you can see from the ad space that is not ads…anyone, anyone?).
However, Mama is always up for a creative challenge because one thing Mama does not need is another box of stale candy or wrapping paper that is neither eco-friendly nor cute. Not to mention the magazine subscriptions that grade schoolers seem so apt at pedaling door-to-door. What can these little adorable cherub preschoolers sell that will light a spark in their grandparents and neighbors eyes for more than a few pennies?
Look what Mama found to spice up your school fundraisers this year…oh, and Mama doesn’t mind if you take the credit for the ideas…where all in this together, right?!
Eco-friendly funds — how would you like your little ones selling foods, gifts and goods that are both eco-friendly but also FAIR TRADE?! Mama is amazed at the fundraising program that Equal Exchange offers. Schools and organizations participating in the program get 40 percent of the profit, free shipping on 4 cases or more (of course they will more!), and free samples and catalogs. They offer amazing ORGANIC items that you use everyday like coffee, tea, chocolate, nuts, berries and sugar. New this fall they have partnered with Ten Thousand Villages to offer gifts like homemade gift wrap, tableclothes, baskets and scarves. Equal Exchange also offers educational tools to teach the kids about sustainability, organic farming and fair trade practices. A great fundraiser to kick-off the school year! Creative funds — okay, so maybe Mama will buy a set of coasters but ONLY if it has Lily-girl’s best artwork on it! Original Works takes your child’s artwork and can make it into virtually anything including notecards, aprons, desk clocks, stainless steel water bottles, sketch books or even just a matted print that you can hang on the wall — all in the name of fundraising for your school. The school then receives a percentage of the net profit of the sales. It’s a win-win for everyone! For more information visit, OriginalWorks.com.
Clean funds — let’s go with the green theme again here but not something you eat, something you clean with. Who doesn’t need eco-friendly cleaners for their homes? Mama loves the products that Good Clean Funds is offering including green cleaners, hand sanitizer, and reuseable bags. Plus, the schools get 30 percent of the net profit. Much better and cleaner than wrapping paper, don’t you think?! For more information visit, GoodCleanFunds.com.
Insect funds — sure we can sell cleaners any day of the week but what about the bugs? Remember those Hexbug Nanos that were all the rage last holiday season? Now you can sell them to earn funds for your school. The company offers FREE shipping and gives your school 50 percent of the net profit. Great for stocking stuffers, party favors and birthday gifts, you can never have too many bugs around! For more information visit, HEXBUG.com.
Do you know of an awesome fundraiser? Share with Mama!! Oh and Mama promises not to sell you any of these items when fundraising…no matter how hard you beg me!
