Have you ever walked into your parent’s house (or perhaps your own…) and think, “OMG…this bedroom furniture is so 80s!” Well, Mama had that moment not too long ago when a waterbed appeared out of nowhere. Thank goodness it wasn’t Mama’s house but seriously, WHO has a waterbed anymore. SO bad for your back people! Mama vowed never to let that happen in our own house so, of course, Mama started searching for bedroom furniture sets that did not look dated but rather classic and timeless — not too modern and not too trendy — just right. Much better than a waterbed…

For the books — After 19 months Mama has finally, almost finished Baby Boy’s room but then again he’ll be out of the crib in about six to eight months and Mama will be starting from square one. However this time there is a rhyme to the reason with the addition of a fun surfer theme (we do live at the beach after all!). Mama loves the Ecotots line of furniture and has her eye on the Big Kahuna Bookcase, $400, for his room. It’s eco-friendly and has a water-based finish, in addition to a no tools or hardware required set-up. FANTASTIC!

For the bed — Mama has had a hard time finding a duvet cover that is both masculine and feminine at the same time. For some reason, the husband doesn’t want to sleep in a bed of flowers (WHAT?). For this fact, Mama loves the designs that Dwell Studio offers. For those of you that know how terrified of birds Mama is, you’ll laugh at how Mama picked this one to sleep in. The irony! For Lily-girl — that’s right back-to-school is just around the corner and Lily-girl needs her new backpack! Mama loves the toddler packs from Dante Beatrix, just look at this little eco-friendly pack. What a green girl she’ll be!


For picnics – we love eating outdoors in the summer time but sometimes when we have company there’s not enough room for all the kids. Mama loves this eye-popping kid’s picnic table that is a perfect addition to our outdoor patio.
