As much as Mama loves her Canon Rebel digital camera, Mama does not love little kid fingers (particularly my own) trying to play with it. Every time Mama brings it out, all I hear is “Just one picture Mama. Just one!” from Lily-girl. Baby Boy just likes anything that makes noise or has buttons to push — the camera has both making it an easy target to get destroyed. That’s it kids — it’s time to get your own camera!
Mama was lucky enough to receive an invitation to try out the new Leapfrog Digital Camera developed by Sakar International. It came at a perfect time for Lily-girl and Mama to try it out in the Big Apple! Mama actually bought Lily-girl two digital cameras previously for holiday gifts. We were less than impressed with the ones that we had because they haven’t worked since that first day.
Leapfrog is known for its learning toys, and the digital camera is no exception. We clicked, snapped and flashed our way through the city. The camera was easy to use and actually spoke to you to let you know that the picture was taken with comments like “Nice shot!” You also have the options to turn off the flash which is a nice option. There is also a viewfinder and an LCD screen to view the photo. It takes awhile for kids to learn to look through the viewfinder but then see the photo on the screen after you click.
The best part for Mama was the easy-to-use photo editing software. Lily-girl could do it all herself. With some other kids digital cameras we’ve used, the photos have come out fuzzy. The Leapfrog photos were much better quality and not so pixilated. Lily-girl and Mama have taken the pictures and made her first photo album!
Definitely four thumbs up from Mama and Lily-girl for the Leapfrog Digital Camera. Available at ToysRUs.com, $49.99.
Okay so back to the ones that Mama bought earlier that didn’t work…Mama does not like naming names BUT one time, Mama did actually tell someone at Target not to buy it. DON’T buy the Fisher Price Kid Tough Digital Camera. It didn’t work – not once for Lily-girl and Mama. The other camera that Mama tried is the Disney Pix Digital Camera. It works and is actually okay. The photo software isn’t nearly as good as the Leapfrog camera software. The Disney Pix camera is available at Amazon.com, price varies.

That is PERFECT for my nephew who has a birthday coming up! Ohmigosh I love it and I know he will too. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I couldn't have found yours at a better time!
That's really cool! My son is only two so probably a little young yet, but definitely something to keep in mind.
