Some Mamas love the kitchen…other Mamas rather fold laundry than cook! Me? Well, this Mama is somewhere in the middle. I love to bake and can follow a recipe but getting creative and not measuring out ingredients — it will definitely be an “eat at your own risk” night. So mainly I’m on clean-up duty or the Sous Chef of the family as my hubby takes the role of Head Chef.
To make the kitchen a little bit more G-L-A-M-O-U-R-O-U-S, Mama has found a few must-haves. Even if you are the Head Chef to my Sous Chef, you’ll still appreciate these little beauties!- Glove On – you’ll feel like a million bucks scrubbing dishes with these glam kitchen gloves from Gloveables. Available in a variety of patterns and colors all tied up with a pretty bow at the wrist at Amazon.com
, $13.50.
- Food Pod — this handy silicone pod is priced right and also has more than one use as it keeps food all in one place for boiling, steaming and blanching. Drop in food, rinse then drop in the water to boil or steam. You’ll love it so much, you’ll want another one to gift to your favorite cook. Available at A+R Store, $15.
- Sassy Apron — nothing like a vintage looking apron to make you feel like your Mama! Swanky Apron has adorable styles in one-size-fits-all that twirl and tie in all the right places. Mama’s pick: the Scalloped Sassy Red with Polka Dot Ties! Clothing underneath is optional! Available at SwankyApron.com, $24.95. While you’re at it, pick one up for your little kitchen helper…nothing cuter than Mommy & Me aprons ($19.95).
- Happy Scrubbing — you’ll feel the love when scrubbing with a heart shaped dish scrubber. Available at Amazon.com
, $11.99.
- Make Your Mark — nothing is more sophisticated than a monogram. Pick your letter and color and know that even if you can’t take credit for the cooking, you can at least get points for good decor! Available at Sourdoughsf’s Etsy.com shop, $15.
- Cheese Lady — grating cheese has never been more elegant than with the “lady” cheese grater from The Sarut Group. Available at CambriaCove.com, $38.

My philosophy is simple: just because you're a mom doesn't mean you have to forgo style or your life. You can do it all with a little help from Mama. Mama makes life easier by doing all the shopping, crafting and ranting for you because really...what Mama has the time for that?! Mama will not lie, I can bake but if you're looking for cooking tips you might be better off going someplace else!
