Mama has been talking about shopping a lot this month but there is SO much more to the holiday season than just gifts! However, you run out of time to talk about them. Today Mama wants to share with you a few of her favorite crafts that can be done with the kiddos during the holiday break. It will give you a chance to slow down and just enjoy the time with your children and remember this holiday season — they’re only young once — don’t blink or you might miss it.
Let’s get crafting!!
Reindeer Food — mix 1/4 cup of raw oatmeal with a pinch of glitter (silver, gold, red or green work best) into a baggie. Attach this poem:“On Christmas Eve, make a wish and close your eyes tight, then sprinkle on your lawn at night. As Santa’s reindeer fly and roam, this food will guide them to your home.”
Candy Cane Reindeer – take one brown pipecleaner and twist it around the nook of the candy cane to create antlers. Then take two google eyes and glue them just below the antlers to create eyes. Next take one small red pom pom to create a nose. Instant reindeer and instant ornament!!
Pinecone Ornaments — this is by far one of the easiest ornaments to make! Take a dry pinecone and cover with glue. Then take glitter and sprinkle on to cover the glue. Let dry. Hang on the tree by wrapping a ribbon around the top of the pinecone.
Popcorn Strings – this is one that I like to save for Christmas Eve as it also leads the reindeer to your home as they like to snack on the popcorn! Pop some popcorn (enough to string and enough to EAT!!). Take a needle and thread and tie of one end to create a barrier. Then get busy threading one kernel at a time. It’s fun to also throw in some food coloring to make red and green popcorn for a more festive look.
What’s your favorite Christmas craft?

My philosophy is simple: just because you're a mom doesn't mean you have to forgo style or your life. You can do it all with a little help from Mama. Mama makes life easier by doing all the shopping, crafting and ranting for you because really...what Mama has the time for that?! Mama will not lie, I can bake but if you're looking for cooking tips you might be better off going someplace else!
